Hello
I wanted to ask everyone, what are your thoughts on using NFT's as digital ownership tokens for wine?
I've seen 2 companies online (WIV and BlockBar) that are selling NFT's for, what I understand as En Primeur wine.
From what I understand the utilities are
- you can buy & trade the NFT and redeem it for a bottle/case (its underlying asset) at a later time
- you can see the history of immutable ownership
- you can "advertise" your ownership in online galleries like https://gallery.so/kevinrose
- you can use your NFT as collateral for a loan in Decentralized Finance
I'm curious,
- Do you think this tech is necessary? good? bad?
- Would you use it?
- Why wouldn't it work?
- What would stop it from going mainstream?
- What am I missing?
Full disclosure, I'm a wine collector & very interested in the space with the potential to make something in the space. I'd love to hear your thoughts
